DESCRIPTION:

I'm not a writer or an author and have not taken any formal writing classes in college. The book is meant to be written as raw and authentic as possible to convey my true thoughts.  Many students comment on how I have no filter when I teach or speak. They call me “dope” and that I "spit facts and drop truth bombs" about things we talk about that are considered too taboo to discuss in our modern society. Because these sensitive topics are often left unsaid, many young people are unsure and confused about what to believe. This confusion can cause them to follow societal norms without critical thought often at the expense of developing their own authentic and genuine points of view.

The style of this book is organic, and it will feel like I'm talking to you directly.

With the combination of social media, COVID restrictions, school curriculums, and the redefinition of masculinity, I am noticing that modern dudes are more anxious, trepidatious, lack self-belief, have poor decision-making skills, are less assertive, unathletic, lack initiative, are more easily offended, overly sensitive, not looking for a girlfriend/mate/wife and less sexual than dudes in the past. At the end of the book, I have a designed developmental model to help be a dude in the 21st century. It is patterned after the LTAD that develops high-performance athletes in Canada used by coaches for every sport.

I describe a dude as a competitive, fun-loving guy, who has a solid group of friends. This dude may play sports or have other hobbies. He is respectful, disciplined and enjoys the company of a woman, and is generally obsessed with sex and intimacy. He still displays male characteristics from over 200,000 years of human evolution; who still exhibit strong instinctual behavior.

In biology class, it is taught that mammals have 2 primary goals, to live (survival) and reproduce (mating.) When there is an imbalance between these two goals, negative consequences are bound to happen.

This book will try to develop dudes in the 21st century to be gentlemen. Relearning all that comes with being a strong, confident man with all the chivalry and ideal traits that the best 21st-century man can possess.

Another important aspect of this book is to understand the difference between masculinity and toxic masculinity. Most people in society group both without really knowing or critically thinking about the difference between them. Dudes should/can be masculine and assertive in a relationship but can also be respectful and in control of their behavior. Essentially, it is important to learn chivalry to become a gentleman. Sadly, many of the traits of how to act like a gentleman have been squeezed out of most men in modern society.

Though I write this book mainly for the benefit of young males and most of the content refers to a male/female relationship, these stories are for everyone. I have met and taught people from various religions, orientations, beliefs or non-believers. By sharing my life experiences and perspectives, I hope this book can benefit everybody.

I fully support and agree with equality and embrace strong women in a relationship, but this does not stop a normal dude from also being a protector, provider, and rock. Both things can be true.

All the thoughts and opinions are my own. People may agree, disagree, or dismiss me completely. I fully respect and expect that not everyone will like or agree with the topics and messaging of my book. I am not trying to force people to change their minds but, instead, I hope that by reading my book, it will give them the choice to critically think about modern society with a more open and balanced viewpoint.
